A truly rare and special find, this handcrafted leather book cover includes an integrated bookmark made by a Native American community based in Winnipeg. The main cover has a beautiful hand painted Native American in traditional dress design with 'Books are silent friends' written below and 'Winnipeg' above. There is a decorative border to the front and back of the cover with writing to the integrated bookmark of 'Lest we forget'.
For a true lover of books, especially if you have an interest in the history or myths and legends of Native American people, this a unique addition to your library. Due to its age, the paint has dried and is delicate, though the colours are still very bright. The leather is of high quality and is in good condition, having not dried out or cracked however there are some slight stain marks.
