The Argosy (UK Edition) was a literary magazine edited most famously by Ellen Wood throughout her lifetime until her death where her son, Charles Wood, took the helm. This particular edition of The Argosy collection covers excerpts from the July-December editions of the magazine. It includes chapters of The Grey Monk by T W Speight, letters from South Africa by Charles Wood and poetry from E Nesbit among many other stories and poems.

This is a marvellous way of experiencing the thoughts, feelings and travel writing of the age all in one volume, beautifully illustrated by M L Gow.

This particular edition of this book has definitely seen some travels of its own. As shown in the photos, there is significant damage to the cover and spine throughout. As far as I can see, all pages are present however the first two pages have become separated with some pages within the volume have come loose. There are signs of foxing to the middle and later pages within the book also. All things considered however, a well loved and read book!
