A Woman’s Debt by WM Le Queux is a classic tale of 1920’s mystery and intrigue with a strong crime edge. A true example of the genre, the story follows Richard Croxton, the trusted secretary of a powerful financier, Rupert Morrice, as he finds himself embroiled in a scandal that threatens his life and love. Accused of a crime he did not commit, Richard must navigate a web of deceit and danger, with only the loyalty of his beloved Rosabelle to sustain him.
This edition of A Woman’s Debt is a first edition, published in 1925 by Ward, Lock & Co. Limited. It includes its original dust jacket, which, sadly has received damage as shown. It has succeeded however in keeping the book beneath in good condition. The cover underneath is in very good condition with no major markings, the red colour as bright as ever and the lettering clearly visible. There is an inscription in the front page, “Jo Vi , with love from Millie, Xmas 1925” and the pages do show foxing to the edges and throughout the book. Its mystery however is still as heart racing as ever and ready to be entered once again!
