A vintage set of Japanese resin lacquerware bowls in a clam shape, with a gilt interior and handpainted floral design. Each bowl features a different floral design and has three feet to the bottom, making them extremely stable when in use. The exterior of the dishes is a deep burgundy red which beautifully highlights the gilt interior.
The clam shape of the dishes is perfect for serving a sweet course at the end of a meal such as mochi. It is an unusual shape, however does lend itself for side dishes and all manner of servings.
Each dish measures at approximately 10cm from front to back, 11cm at its widest point and 3cm in height from the table. They are in exceptionally good shape for their age with no major dinks or loss of detail, there is however minor scratches to the base as shown in the photos.
