Perfect for any fans of the English cottage, the Covent Garden pattern produced by Wedgwood in the 1960’s features a selection of fruits and autumnal leaves in a deep colour palette of greens and reds. The main design on one side of this gravy boat is a selection of fruits and foliage with leaves repeating on the opposite side. The handle is a deep green colour, whilst the remainder of the ceramic is a light cream colour.
As with all Wedgwood pieces, it features the Wedgwood stamp on the base with the naming of the pattern. Traditionally Covent Garden was made from ironstone, an especially durable type of ceramic, design for heavy everyday use, therefore you can be confident in its length of service! It measures at approximately 19.5cm in total length from spout to handle and 9cm from table top to top of the spout. Overall it is in good condition with no chips or major marks to the exterior with minimal crazing present, however they are a few marks to the interior of discolouration as shown in the photos.
A fine addition to your country table however, Wedgwood designed for this gravy boat to last, and it has many years of service left to live!
