An adorable example of a Kokeshi doll, a boatman at work ferrying passengers in his pine boat. Kokeshi style ornaments themselves, have a very long and developed history, initially created during in the mountainous areas of northern Japan, during winter when we all have to admit we have more free time on our hands at home. People started to carve this little toy dolls which ended being sold to tourists visiting popular sites in the summer.
This boatman is in good condition with no major marks, damage or signs of wear, measuring at approximately 8cm high and 12cm wide at the base.
This is perfect to bring a bit of forest charm to your home!
