A round musical paperweight set in a clear acrylic box, with a Romance by Reuge 18 point movement set inside to play Edelweiss with a design of two children to the top. Reuge are a Swiss based company who first started making music boxes in 1865, internationally recognised as extremely high quality movements, the Romance range was introduced in the 1980's to produce a more economic option to their more specialist product.
This particular paperweight is created to play Edelweiss, from The Sound Of Music, and is in working order. The design has a sepia tint and depicts a boy playing the accordion with a girl singing along with a silver coloured edge. The edge does some surface level scratching, otherwise however it is in good condition for its age, measuring at approximately 7cm in diameter and 4cm in height from the table.
