A commemorative ceramic wall plate featuring a portrait of King Edward VII made by Ridgway, I believe in honour of his coronation in 1902. You may already be a historian, however just in the slim case you are not, King Edward VII was the playboy son of Queen Victoria (you do know that one!) who, when he came to the throne became instrumental in foreign policy and was known as ‘the Uncle of Europe’.

In a perfect pairing Ridgway were considered to be very highly regarded within the Staffordshire potteries. Started in 1802, at least this sector of the business, it grew to become a staple in the upper sector of pottery on the market at this time. The combination of these two respectable figures are sure to bring a lovely level of class to your wall! Even if it’s a downstairs loo!

It has a gorgeous sepia tone colour way and has some crazing due to age, otherwise however it is in good condition with no major chips and only one hairline crack visible. The edges show some either wear to the glaze or the glaze was missed!

It measures at approximately 23cm in diameter.
