A commemorative ceramic wall plate featuring a reproduction of Francesco Bartolozzi's engraving of Elizabeth Burrough and produced by Ridgway. The original engraving has been dated to approximately 1770's/1780's and has been produced in print as an excellent example of 18th century British art.

In a perfect pairing Ridgway were considered to be very highly regarded within the Staffordshire potteries. Started in 1802, at least this sector of the business, it grew to become a staple in the upper sector of pottery on the market at this time. A quality product featuring a quality piece of art is surely a win-win combination!

It has a gorgeous sepia tone colour way and with a metallic edge, which has worn away in sections along with the slight crazing which does belie its age. Otherwise however it is in good condition with no major chips.

It measures at approximately 23cm in diameter.
