A commemorative ceramic wall plate featuring a portrait of a very stylish Victorian lady (with an exceptionally gorgeous hat) made by Ridgway. Ridgway were considered to be very highly regarded within the Staffordshire potteries. Started in 1802, at least this sector of the business, it grew to become a staple in the upper sector of pottery on the market at this time.
It has a gorgeous lighter sepia tone colour way and has some minor crazing due to age, otherwise however it is in good condition with no major chips visible. The gilt edging however has been rubbed away in certain areas, I believe it adds to the antique look but it is always personal preference.
