A classic in the world of British ceramics, ‘Homestead Brown’ has a a deep chestnut brown glaze and this gorgeous cruet set is no exception. Introduced in 1953 following post war restrictions being lifted in the use of colour in pottery production, each piece of the range speaks to the era it was produced in and retains a timeless appeal.
The set includes salt and pepper shakers with a lidded mustard pot on a curved tray, all produced by Bourne Denby as shown in the stamps to the bases. Due to the shape of the pieces themselves and the specifics of the makers mark, I believe this set to have been produced in the 1970’s, most likely designed for a wedding registry item!
Each item is in good condition with no cracks or chips visible with the tray measuring at approximately 20cm and the pots 6cm.
