A small item but with such a great story! This particular spoon is called a cochlearium, used by the Romans its known for its goose neck and tapered handle. This was thought designed to be designed for eating snails or cockles from the shell, an interesting story for a tableware item!
This particular spoon has ‘WR SP’ stamped to the side identifying it as a silver plated item from William Roberts a well known cutlery manufacturer. Overall it is in good condition measuring at approximately 11cm in total length and the only signs of use being some wear to plating in the main bowl of the spoon as shown.
